Days Gone By in Stithians

This page is devoted to the past. New comers will be interested in what has happened to our village in the past, and those who have been living here for some time will remember many of the events that have occurred.

One of the most memorable changes was the demolishing of "The Old Vicarage" which served good food and drinks, and became a place where weddings were held in its last few months.

The Old Vicarage Hotel was demolished, the site cleared, and it is now a new Housing Estate

The Strengthening of Bridges produced some controversy in the Parish. The bridge
at Kennel Mill had a weight limit notice placed on it, as it was protected.

The bridge at Tregonning Mill had walls built in an unconventional style
